WHAT
IS THE KUNDALINI YOGA MAILING LIST
The
Kundalini Yoga List is a forum for all who practice or wish to
learn about the art, science and technology that is Kundalini
Yoga, and for the promotion and discussion of all related matters.
Yoga
means Union with the Divine. As such it transcends all ideologies
and organized religions. This list is maintained as a religion-free
zone. Its spirit is EK ONG KAR - the creator of all is one!
This
document is a brief summary of simple Netiquette, to help our
list operate for the benefit of all our subscribers. Especially
if you are new to computers and the Internet, take some time out
to become acquainted with its contents. If anything is not clear,
then ask - kundaliniyoga-owner@yahoogroups.com
If
you are not sure about message replying, editing, or other basic
computer operating procedures, then please consult your computer
handbook, your ISP's technical support department, or a knowledgeable
friend, and NOT our admin staff!
WHAT
IS KUNDALINI YOGA?
Kundalini
Yoga, the mother of all yogas, and also the most powerful and
inclusive, is the source of every other yogic system and technique.
It is a proven system for self-transformation, personal development
and consciousness exploration, combining breathing, stretching,
the science of sequence, rhythm and sound to work on every aspect
of your being. It works primarily by facilitating the flow of
energy through the body, in particular along the spinal energy
channels through the chakras, and can induce elevated states of
consciousness. Although it is possible to practise by yourself,
it is strongly recommended that you also attend classes if they
are available in your area. The group experience is most important
to your proper development.

HOW
DO I POST TO THE LIST?
Before
posting for the first time, make sure you are familiar with our
list posting rules.
Send
your messages to Kundaliniyoga@yahoogroups.com
(the posting address). Do NOT send any unsubscribe requests to
this address. Replies to messages will automatically go to the
list, unless you manually change the address, for example, when
you want to take something off-line.
Do
not send attachments - they will be removed automatically to avoid
risk of viruses. Textual content can be copied and pasted into
the body of your message before sending.
HOW
DO I ACCESS THE YAHOO GROUPS MEMBER CENTER?
Point
your browser to http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups/
If you have visited them previously and allow your browser to
accept cookies, then you should be recognized automatically. If
not, then you can enter your e-mail address and password in the
box provided.
If
you do not have a Yahoo password, then you will need to join -
follow the links to sign up.
HOW
DO I SUBSCRIBE?
You
can join any Yahoo group at http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups
If you do not have a Yahoo Groups Web password, then you can subscribe
via email -

or

Note that the
list of subscribers is private, and no one except the list owner,
his assistants and Yahoo Groups have access to it. Your privacy
is respected, and no details will be disclosed to any third party
without your prior and express consent.
As a new subscriber
we would ask you to briefly introduce yourself to other members.
HOW
DO I UNSUBSCRIBE?
To
unsubscribe, go to the Yahoo Groups Member Center, and click on
the unsubscribe tab next to Kundaliniyoga on your list of subscribed
mailing lists,
or, send an e-mail
to Kundaliniyoga-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com
- the unsubscribe request will only be successful if made from
the same address as that registered to you at Yahoo Groups. It
is easy to change your address at the Yahoo Groups Members Center.
Please do not
send Unsubscribe Requests to the list - you will not be unsubscribed,
and will only succeed in causing annoyance to others.
NB. Many e-mail
unsubscribe requests that fail, do so because the word unsubscribe
has been spelled incorrectly.
HOW
DO I SUBSCRIBE TO THE DIGEST VERSION?
Using
the Digest option, you will normally receive only one message
each day, containing all of the messages posted during the preceding
24 hour period. (Or one package for every 25 messages posted during
that period). Go to the Yahoo Groups Member Center (http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups)
and click on
the digest box next to Kundaliniyoga on your list of subscribed
mailing lists. A subsequent click on the same box will revert
you to normal mode.
Alternatively
you can send an e-mail to Kundaliniyoga-digest@yahoogroups.com.
To revert send an e-mail to Kundaliniyoga-normal@yahoogroups.com
WHAT
ABOUT VIRUSES?
It
is NOT possible to pick up a computer virus infection by receiving
and reading e-mail. However, file attachments are a different
matter. To avoid such problems, all attachments will be stripped
from messages by Yahoo Groups.
As a general rule, never open a file attachment when you are not
certain that (a) the source is reliable and (b) the attachment
is above suspicion. Many infections occur in which neither the
sender nor the receiver is aware of any problem at the time. Be
especially cautious when dealing with unsolicited e-mail.
Run
an anti-virus program at all times, and keep the virus definitions
file current (most programs now do this automatically).
HOW
CAN I CONTACT THE LIST OWNER?
Write
to Kundaliniyoga-owner@yahoogroups.com.
Contact the List Owner with any questions regarding the running
of the list that have not been answered in this FAQ. Please direct
questions reqarding the operation of your computer system to your
dealer, supplier or to a knowledgeable friend.
Also,
you comments and suggestions are always appreciated.
WHAT
SHOULD I DO ABOUT MY SUBSCRIPTION WHEN I GO ON VACATION?
You
have three choices, listed in order of preference:
- set
the No Mail option in
the Member Center - this keeps you subscribed, but stops mail
being sent to your address,
- unsubscribe
from the list, and resubscribe when you can return,
- do nothing
- your mailbox may be quite full by the time you return. (If
it is full and your mail starts to bounce, then Yahoo Groups
may well suspend your membership!)
If you leave
behind an auto-responder which bounces messages back to this list,
then you will find yourself unsubscribed by the time you return.
HOW
DO I USE THE SHARED FILES AREA?
Go
to Member Center, click on Kundaliniyoga, and then click on option
for shared files. When you are there you can browse the files
already posted, you can create your own directories and upload
your own files to them, or you can delete files previously uploaded
by yourself. If you have any problems with this, contact the List
Owner.
Only upload files
which are (a) relevant and (b) for which you either hold copyright,
or for which copying is clearly allowed by the copyright holder,
normally on condition that the source is clearly acknowledged.
Files deemed inappropriate in any way will be removed.
HOW
DO I ACCESS THE BOOKMARKS AREA?
Go
to Member Center, click on Kundaliniyoga and then click on the
bookmarks option. You can browse the bookmarks and click on them
to link straight to that particular web site. If you have any
good bookmarks that you would like to share with us, add them
to the list, or pass them on to the List Owner for inclusion.
HOW
CAN I BROWSE THE KUNDALINIYOGA ARCHIVES?
The
archives can be reached via a link from the Kundalini Yoga Website.
(http://www.kundaliniyoga.org/archives.html).
As a security precaution, to prevent address harvesting by Spammers,
all sending addresses are removed by Yahoo Groups as part of the
archiving process.
